State Bird Provisions is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco. I’ve dined here more than anyone I know. I should be VIP up in there if there was such a thing. I’ve logged in almost 20 times since it opened! If you haven’t been, it’s time to make a reservation. Reservations are 60 days out, or you can get in line early and put your name on the list.

SBP is about the food and equally the experience. Servers cruising around with trays or carts, enticing you with 10-12 American small plates/tapas dim sum style meant for sharing. They also have a short set menu with their take on pancakes, a variety of meats and desserts. The space is simple but oozes a hip ambiance.

Every time I go, there are three things that are must for me: California State Bird with Provisions, smoked trout parfait and whatever ice cream sandwich they have on deck that day. So delicious! A Cirque du Soleil of flavors! I get a bunch of other stuff as well. Make sure to go with 3 other people so it’s affordable for everyone. LOL! Having some wine usually ups the total price but who cares, you’re eating some amazing food! Tables max out at 4. For parties of 5 or more, you’ll need to email the restaurant and is usually more of a pre-fixed menu. Whatever you get, you won’t be disappointed. I will continue to go as long as they can keep up or elevate their menu.
