I love Kin Khao! It's the best Thai restaurant in San Francisco tucked away in a little corner of the Parc 55 Hotel. “Kin Khao” means “to eat” or “let’s eat” and if you know me, I love to eat! LOL! Kin Khao takes an upscale approach to traditional Thai cuisine. So, if you're looking for Pad Thai, this spot is not for you! You can head out to Osha Thai several blocks away. Did I mention that Kin Khao is a one Michelin star rated restaurant!? Well, it is! I'm never disappointed at this Thai eatery! Authentic for sure. Pim Techamuanvivit, the Proprietress, is like a magician, using locally sourced ingredients that packs a punch of flavors. Kin Khao is tiny and loud but who cares, the food is amazing and makes up for it! If you like spicy, you'll love it. My favorite dishes are the charred squid and braised beef cheeks. The charred squid has this spicy and tangy sauce that's so good that I pour what's left over rice! The braised beef cheeks are so tender cooked in curry and coconut milk. It makes you feel some kind of way! They also have a delicious list of cocktails under their arsenal that compliments the food very well! I want some now! Lucky for me, it's only a few blocks away from me. Unfortunately, they close at 10pm. Good news though, it's now open for lunch during the weekends! Yay! Lunch and then shopping! Good combo! Invite some friends and enjoy!
